How Important Is Your Smile?

There’s no doubt about it; an attractive smile is a personal and professional asset. But do you have doubts about your smile? Perhaps your teeth are too dark, too large or too small.

Do gaps or chips make a negative impression? Maybe your teeth are worn down, making you look older than you are. Perhaps jumbled, crowded or protruding teeth stop you from smiling fully or smiling altogether.

We invite you to review the various treatments shown and feel free to ask us how cosmetic dentistry can enhance your smile.

Rejuvenate Your Smile and Spirit!

Want a Whiter Smile?
With whitening, we can help you have a brighter, cleaner dazzling smile.
A smile filled with pearly white teeth is all the rage these days.  Recent television shows have brought oral health and appearance to the forefront of our patients’ interest.
Do your teeth seem dull or yellowish regardless of how often you brush?
It’s not what’s on your teeth, but more accurately what’s in your teeth, causing them to appear as they do.  Teeth, over time, stain from coffee, tea, red wine, and natural aging.
At Sheridan Dental Centre our whitening system can offer you results that will have you smiling in no time, well in a few short visits.  Supervised whitening has been evaluated and determined safe for gums and teeth (not recommended for children under 13, pregnant or lactating woman). The results are long lasting and can be touched up as needed to keep your smile looking healthy and bright.

No More Unattractive Silver Fillings
Tooth-coloured fillings, all porcelain caps and inlays are not only more aesthetically pleasing, they’re strong enough to withstand the incredible forces associated with regular chewing.

Metallic filling were standard practice until not so long ago.  While these fillings were often unattractive to begin with, over time, the material which makes up the filling corrodes and leaks which blackens the silver, and many times the tooth.

If you’re unhappy with the silver in your smile, talk to us about Composite fillings. Composite fillings are made of a porcelain-like material that actually bonds to the tooth for a tight seal. They are strong, stain-resistant, and they are colour-matched to the natural tooth, making them virtually ‘invisible’.

Composite fillings also lack the sensitivity that is often associated with silver fillings. They are especially suited for smaller cavities and for patients who may be allergic to older metal fillings.

Invisible Orthodontics
If your “too old to have braces”, self-conscious, or traditional braces won’t fit your lifestyle, than Sheridan Dental Centre may have the solution for you.  Clear braces and modern dental technologies can straighten your smile in a shorter period, with as little evidence as possible, aside from your new and improved smile.
Ask us about our clear braces, you’ll be glad you did.

Change Your Smile Dramatically
Let us help restore your smile with veneers. Veneers are ideal for repairing misshaped or worn teeth, filling gaps and covering stains.

Your smile can make you look younger, healthier, and sexier.

The dentists at Sheridan Dental Centre are trained to perform porcelain veneer smile makeovers that can act to;
·      Straighten Crooked Teeth
·      Close gaps in teeth
·      Whiten dark, yellow, permanently-stained or discoloured teeth
·      Repair broken or chipped teeth
·      Enhance your overall smile making you feel younger, sexier and more confident.

Porcelain veneers are custom, porcelain facings that are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth. Once the procedure is complete, your tooth feels and looks the same thickness as before, only straighter, whiter, healthier.

Feel free to ask us what veneers can do for your smile.

Dental Implants

We can replace your missing or damaged teeth with permanent, lifelike implants.  Also available are more secure implant supported dentures.

Many people, for one reason or another, have lost a tooth.  Reasons range from poor dental hygiene to any number of accidents. Regardless of the reason for your missing tooth, we can repair your smile and replace your missing tooth with a dental implant.

A dental implant is a small prosthetic post that is placed into the bone of the upper or lower jaw. Dental implants look and feel exactly like natural teeth – in fact, no one other than you and your dentist will be able to tell the difference.

Nothing looks more natural than an implant (aside from your own teeth)! In many situations, dental implants give back a patient’s confidence in their smile, improved aesthetics, the ability to eat comfortably and a clean, healthy oral environment.  Another great thing about implants is that in many cases, they last longer than 15 years!

There are many different types of dental implants available. At Sheridan Dental Centre we have extensive experience in dental implants and would be pleased to discuss the benefits of implant prosthetics with you.

Make a Noticeable Difference
With crowns and bridges we can help you restore badly fractured, unsightly and even missing teeth.

Crowns:
A crown is a covering that sits over the top of the tooth. Crowns protect, cover, seal and strengthen your tooth. When a filling just won’t do the job, we often turn to the crown.

There are many situations that may call for a crown:

  • Large old fillings that have broken down or fallen out
  • Cracked tooth
  • Severe decay
  • Extremely sensitive teeth
  • Broken / Fractured tooth
  • Root Canal Therapy

Crowns (also called “caps”) may be the answer to your sensitive back teeth or the chip that a popcorn kernel just caused.

Dental Bridges:
While you may not see that missing tooth as causing problems, you run the risk of the surrounding teeth drifting out of position and creating visible harm over time. Missing teeth can also cause your other teeth and gums to become far more susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease.  One of the solutions we can offer for patients missing teeth is called a dental bridge.

A dental bridge is a false tooth, known as a pontic. It can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. Bridges can do many things, including reducing your risk of gum disease, help to correct minor bite issues and can even improve your speech.

Bridges can often be completed in two short visits and can prevent many future problems before they even become an issue.

If you’re missing a tooth and have figured it was harmless until now, ask us if a dental bridge is right for you.
